It was almost sinking as we towed this beloved relic across Georgian Bay, but Stan made this cedar strip boat better than new again. Pictures show the former state of this boat of unknown origin (although similar to a Peterborough) and the after shot of its proud owner driving it for the first time again since he was a boy from 12 Mile Bay to a secluded island in Georgian Bay.
“This was a special case,” says Stan, “as our shop normally doesn’t take on boats in this condition. But it was a special boat for the owner and he and his family are friends, so we went for it. Seeing Dad look like a little kid again in the boat he had as a child – it was worth it!”
